You are ready to plan your next trip to Europe, but look on your favorite airlines website, whether it's American, Delta, Jet Blue, etc., and find that the flight are way out of your price range. Many times, people either settle for this price or give up hopes on embarking on their dream vacation. Don't worry, here are some tricks that can help you land the best prices on flights.

If you are planning to travel internationally, plan around six months out, and have your ticket purchased by three months out, latest. For domestic travel start thinking about purchasing your ticket at 3 months to around 60 days before you fly.

Flights prices are similar to the market, its all about timing, sometimes prices go up, other times they go down. You want to make sure you are getting the best deal you can.

When purchasing tickets, too often I see people stick to their favorite carriers website without comparing prices. I don't recommend this because it's like looking at one car without checking out the rest of the lot for the best deal.

Price comparison tools such as tripadvisor.com and Google.com/fights are common sites that you can use to help assure you are getting the best prices!

Other sites that provide deals and discounts are: studentuniverse.com, momondo.com, skiplagged.com. Check back for other articles to learn more about the benefits of each site!

Happy Flying!
