What do you get when you mix Luxury, Service, and Barcelona?

Two weeks ago I had the trip of a lifetime and visited one of my favorite cities, Barcelona! When visiting in the past, I've stayed at great properties including Torre Catalunya, Hotel Expo, and the NH Hesperia Barcelona Presidente. I have had great experiences in all of these hotels so when I decided to book this time with a hotel I had never been to I felt a bit hesitant. I decided to book with Melia Sarría Barcelona because they had a summer promotion, where with booking a package you would gain access to the world renowned YHI Spa as well as the concierge lounge called the LEVEL Lounge.

Upon arrival I was greeted, and with giving my name I was taken directly to the LEVEL lounge where I was welcomed by a private concierge who took me through the check in process. In a matter of minutes I was welcomed with drinks and hors d'oeuvres and escorted to the Suite Miró which was the name of my room.

The room was large and had several amenities, including big windows, remote controlled blinds, coffee/tea, robes, etc. Something I found that I had never seen before in a hotel room were artifacts. In the room, there was various types of decor consisting of vases and ceramics that had discrete tags explaining their origins. For example, one vase tag noted that it was used to transport wine in the 3rd Century. This was a very unique touch that I enjoyed.

The LEVEL lounge was one of the highlights of my experience, from early breakfast through later dinner, the lounge offered various plates including pastries, baked goods, and tapas. To accompany this, they offered a favorite Cava of mine, Segura Viudas Brut Reserva as well as red/white wines, beers, and a variety of other beverages.

After a few snacks and drinks, the YHI spa was the place to go. With my room, came complementary access to various spa amenities which included a heated whirlpool with various jet settings for back, leg, neck, etc., Sauna, Turkish Bath, Jet Showers, and Heated tile beds. The environment was calm and relaxing, I would highly recommend visiting. If it isn't part of your package, the entry is 15 euros.

Overall, from check-in to departure, I received incredible service from all of the staff. I have stayed with Melia in the past, but this property surpassed all of my expectations. Highly recommend for business as well as family travelers.
